P. 2

Welcome everybody to the newest of decades. Even though we have ventured into a new year and a new decade, the Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce will continue to have the same vision as in previous years...promoting the over 300 members that we have along with our great Community.
We are planning a lot of the same events for 2020, but we are tweaking some of them along with rolling out a few new things. Here is a quick snapshot through the month of August:
• Madison/DSU Hosts the Legislature on February 11th—Full day in Pierre, you can either ride the charter bus or meet us in Pierre. Please contact the Chamber to reserve your spot and for an accurate food count
• Bowling for Business on February 24th—gather a team of 5, compete for prizes and bragging rights
• Annual Member Recognition Luncheon on March 24th—join us over the lunch hour for a quick year in review and update
• Northern Bull Riding Tour on June 5th—held at Prairie Village and spon- sored in part by our Ag Committee
• Annual Golf Classic on June 19th—team spots sell out every year so regis- ter your team ASAP
• DownTown in MadTown July 21, 28 August 4, 11, 18, 25—head down to Egan Ave from 6-9pm to listen to live music, let the kids play in the inflatables, grab a bite to eat, and have a beverage
Event Change
• Our traditional “Discovery Day” is getting a fresh new look which will also include a date change and new name. Keep on the lookout for more infor- mation on our July 18th event. For now, here is a hint: BACON!!!!!
New Things
• In March, we will be rolling out a new look website. It will be much more user friendly for visitors and our members. We will also be holding some training lunch sessions for our members on how to take full advantage of our website
• Do you want to stay up to date on Chamber Information and receive Event Reminders? We have a new SMS text messaging platform that we use to keep you informed. Grab your phone and text MADTOWN to 72727, you will receive a confirmation text and then will start to receive messages from us directly to your phone.
• If you haven’t purchased the new 2020 MadSavings Coupon Book, con- tact us and we will get you one. For $20, you receive over 90 coupons and over $1000 in savings.
These are just a few of the items we focus on during each day. If you would like to be a part of planning the above events or some of our other events, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. All of our committees are strictly community volunteer based and the success of the Chamber continues to move forward due in large part to our volunteers. We will see you at our events as we keep our 20/20 vision into this new decade.
