The Madison Central School District opens its doors each day to 1,188 students. The mission of MCSD is to educate all students to fully achieve their personal and academic potential as lifelong learners skilled in communication, problem solving, and global responsibility. In keeping with this mission, opportunities for achievement are abound for students in the Madison public schools. With a strong emphasis on academics, MCSD graduates a high percentage of Regents Scholars and scholarship recipients. A strong vocal and instrumental program begins in the elementary school and carries through to Middle School and High School with show choir, jazz band, and concert bands/ choirs. Other Fine Arts activities include
oral interpretation, culinary classes, debate, and theatre. Athletic excellence shines through the vast array of sports which have brought home many state awards in track & field, gymnastics, basketball, cross country, football, tennis, golf, wrestling, cheerleading, and volleyball. In addition, students can participate in FFA, FCCLA, FBLA, Student Council, Yearbook, newspaper, and National Honor Society.
