 Chamber Committee Opportunities MEMBERSHIP SERVICES
Ambassador Committee
The Ambassadors are an active group of Chamber representatives who act as a welcome committee by calling on new members; they encourage the members to attend Chamber functions and introduce them around at events. They attend ribbon cuttings and they meet once a month at different restaurants.
Membership Committee
This committee meets on an as needed basis (usually quarterly) to review the activities and help the Chamber brainstorm ideas to enhance the general membership functions by mon- itoring changing needs and helping to meet those needs. They also help with creative ideas to increase recruitment of new members and also retention of current members.
Networking Groups
The main activity of the Networking Groups is lead generation and exchange for the pur- pose of increasing sales and generating business to help increase customer base and sales. A lead is considered any information provided to a fellow member which offers an oppor- tunity for a networking group member to acquire new business. Each group permits only one firm per business classification to maximize the effectiveness of the lead. All infor- mation obtained from participation in meetings shall remain protected and confidential to that group.
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
Beautification Committee
The purpose is to review the community image and assist in improving the community while recognizing the work of others through an approved awards program. They are charged with the purpose of promoting community through pride among the residents by various programs developed to maintain and improve the quality of living in the City of Ormond Beach, and to instill a spirit of pride in the lifestyle of its commercial and resi- dential areas and monitor the planning of governmental and community development in areas of ecological esthetic concern. The committee shall maintain a quarterly awards pro- gram selecting from each of the city's four zones and presenting the beautification awards for Residential and Business Beautification/Renovation categories.
Education Committee/Teacher of the Quarter
The purpose is to develop activities and identify areas of need relevant to the education process in Ormond Beach and Volusia County. Its mission is to promote community inter- est in local and area schools, stimulate interest and support of vocational training and career opportunities available in the area, especially by contacting and working with profes- sional groups to offer expertise in the area of jurisdiction to other similar businesses and encourage efforts and programs that support excellence and education.
