PERSONAL INCOME TAX: Personal income tax is imposed on the West Virginia taxable income of resident individuals, estates and trusts wherever their income is earned. Nonresident individu- als, estates and trusts are also subject to the tax on the income they gain from West Virginia sources. MOTOR VEHICLE TAXES: An individual who titles a motor vehicle in the West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles must pay a 5% sales tax based on the sales price of the vehicle regardless of whether it was purchased in or outside of West Virginia.
